Domain ownership disputes

Domain names have become a valuable commodity that individuals and businesses want to protect. The right to use a domain name can be challenged by a third party for any number of reasons e.g.

  • The domain name is identical or confusingly similar to a trademark or service mark in which the complainant has rights
  • Complaint against someone who has no rights or legitimate interests in respect of the domain name
  • The domain name has been registered and is being used in bad faith
